Hearts — How to play and useful tips

Avoid hearts and the queen of spades against three opponents. Three CPU levels, a single round or a 100-point match.

Controls

  1. Hearts cost one point each; the queen of spades costs thirteen. The lowest score wins.
  2. Pass three cards left, right, across, then no cards, repeating each four rounds. The holder of 2♣ opens after passing. Follow the led suit when possible; Ace is high.

Playing tips

  • On the first trick, avoid hearts and Q♠ when another legal card is available. Lead hearts only after a heart has been played, or when holding only hearts. Q♠ alone does not break hearts.
