Gin Rummy — How to play and useful tips
A two-player card game of matching ranks, suited runs and well-timed knocks. Play three CPU levels or share a device, for one hand or a 100-point match.
Controls
- Each player receives 10 cards from a 52-card deck. Meld three or four equal ranks, or at least three consecutive cards of one suit. Ace is low; Q-K-A is invalid. A card cannot belong to two melds.
- The opening player may take or pass the upcard, then the other player has the same offer. If both pass, the opener draws from stock. After that, draw one card from stock or discard and discard one. A card taken from discard cannot be returned in that same turn.
Playing tips
- After discarding, knock with 10 or fewer unmatched points, or continue playing. Face cards count 10 and aces count 1. Zero unmatched points is gin. Review the suggested melds or select an alternative before confirming.
