2048 — How to play and useful tips
Make 2048 to reach the next stage. Larger starting tiles and a roomy board gradually give way to the standard 4×4 challenge.
Controls
- Clear a stage and choose Next stage. Individual settings remain available in Standard play.
- Swipe, use arrow keys or press the on-screen directions.
- Matching numbers merge when they meet.
Playing tips
- Keep larger tiles together toward one side and leave room for smaller tiles to combine.
Common questions
Does play stop at 2048?
You can continue after making 2048. The run ends when no move remains.
Can I resume later?
Your board is saved automatically in this browser.
Are stage personal bests saved?
Yes. Open Records to see your best reached and cleared stages.
